President of the Inter Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) Keith Wellington and Competitions Director of the Boys and Girls Championships Anthony Davis, have both said they were embarrassed about the chain of events that affected the five day event at the National Stadium last week.
In a Championship marred by disqualifications, false starts, recalls, protest and re runs, when the dust settled Kingston College hoisted the Mortimer Geddes trophy after amassing 293 points to capture their 36th on the crown, while Hydel captured their second title with 277 points and in the process dethroned defending champion Edwin Allen who finished 10 points behind.
However, many persons were upset with how things unfolded at the event, with many going as far as to say this was the worse champs ever, and having the worse starters in the world.

Calabar's head coach Corey Bennett remains livid about the chain of events and claim they had no chance because the Champs was decided in the board room.

Meanwhile Davis speaking with Ricardo Chambers on Sportsmax also echoed sentiments of embarrassment especially as it regards to the issue of Calabar's Jamal Stephenson retroactive disqualification from the Class one 100 meters semi finals.

Wellington speaking on Irie Fm's Whats the Score sports talk show said he was ashamed about how things unfolded.
Davis added that he is of the view that the starters equipment was faulty hence the amount of false starts.

Chief starter Ludlow Watts who was also on Irie Fm's whats the Score defended the starting system that they used at Champs claiming it was not at fault.
