The 1983 Reggae classic album, Mama Africa, done by the legendary Jamaican singer Peter Tosh is set be re-released on Friday October 11.
This will come just ahead of Tosh Fest, on October 19, which will also be on his 80th birthday.
In making the announcement, the Peter Tosh Foundation shared that this limited edition recycled red vinyl features a special commemorative label honouring Tosh’s legacy and is now available for pre-order.
Mama Africa is a celebration of African heritage and a call for unity and liberation.
The album features a mix of upbeat tracks and tributes to the motherland.
The nine-track album includes songs such as the title track, Mama Africa, Peace Treaty, Glass House, Maga Dog, Where You Gonna Run, among others.
The Foundation shared that following Mama Africa, more of Tosh’s classic albums, including Bush Doctor, Mystic Man, and No Nuclear War, will also be re-released.
