Argentine superstar Lionel Messi brought the house down last night for Inter Miami FC with virtually the last kick of the game to hand Caribbean Cup champions Cavalier a 2-nil defeat in front of a capacity crowd inside Jamaica's National Stadium.

This puts Cavalier out of of the 2025 Concacaf Champion League despite two credible round of 16 performances against Supporters Shield winners Inter-Miami FC.
The eight time Ballon D'or winner who warmed the heart of Jamaican fans with every move he made while on the bench and on the field accounted for a massive turnout at the National Stadium, while some spectators had to be turned away.

Messi came on in the 53rd minute replacing another star player Luis Suarez who had earlier given Inter-Miami the lead from the penalty spot on minute 37 as the MLS club took the tie 4-nil on aggregate.

Cavalier's coach Rudolph Speid also spoke about how he managed the game during the electrifying moments when Messi was introduced in the game.

The series win sets up an all-MLS encounter between Inter Miami and Los Angeles FC in the quarterfinals.
The Inter-Miami team returned home after the game last night while Cavalier will return to continuing the defence of their Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League title.
