Traffic congestion along the North Coast Highway in St. Ann Jamaica, is expected to be reduced in a significant way with two major projects to get underway in short order.
The addition of two more lanes to the North Coast Highway will be among the projects.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness who was addressing an audience in St Ann on Thursday October 10, said that project will entail construction of under-passes and side roads, to facilitate the free flow of vehicular traffic for local residents.
Residents have been complaining about traffic congestion between Ocho Rios and St. Ann's Bay, with a higher concentration in the Mammee bay area.
Prime Minister Holness also indicated that plans are also in place to extend the North South Highway to Trelawny.
The North South Highway connects the south coast via Caymanas in St. Catherine to the North Coast via Mammee Bay in St. Ann.
