International Paralympic Committee President Andrew Parsons to open new doors for Jamaica's Para Movement

President of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), Andrew Parsons told MHT Media that making it easier for Paralympic Sport in Jamaica to receive funding, will be paramount on his list of priorities in his visit to the island.


Parsons is currently in Jamaica on a five day visit where he will touch base with all the stakeholders involved in Paralympic Sport and to assist in charting a way forward.



While in Jamaica, the 47 year old Brazilian who is a journalist by profession, will make courtesy visits with the Opposition Leader Mark Golding and Sports Minister Olivia Grange among other key stakeholders.


Among Parsons list of priorities as well to see how he can open more doors for the Jamaica Paralympic Association.

Meanwhile President of the Jamaica Paralympic Association Christopher Samuda emphasised this will be an important opportunity for the local Paralympic community to engage directly with Parsons and gain insight into growth strategies and perspectives on the development of Para sport.
