Long serving Jamaica Football Federation stalwart Howard Juicy Bell, retired Reggae Boy striker Michael Tulloch, and the late veteran administrator Freddie Green, were the inaugural honorees by the Jamaica Football Past Players Association.
The trio were presented with citations and trophies in a ceremony which took place at the Melbourne Cricket ground on Friday December 13.
Chief Executive Officer of Professional Football Jamaica limited (PFJL) Owen Hill delivered the keynote address.
Under the theme "Life After Football: Building Health and Wealth for the Future" Hill a former footballer who represented Kingston College in Manning Cup, delivered a riveting speech and everyone in the audience was glued to every word being said - Hill summarizes.
The late Freddy Green was a pioneer footballer for Kingston College, captaining the school to its first Manning Cup title in 1949 - He subsequently made his name as a coach, hockey and volleyball player and was a long serving General Secretary for the Inter Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) - Mrs. Marva Green, the wife of the late Freddy Green was on hand to collect the award posthumously -
Howard Bell a former star footballer at Kingston College, and former Jamaica International, also made a long lasting contribution to Jamaica's football administratively as manager of the Jamaica football teams.
Michael Tulloch a former Jamaican International, also represented the Jamaica Defence Force and was the team's leading marksman when they won their only Jamaica Premier League title in 1985.
In the meantime, certificates of appreciation were awarded to : the Melbourne Cricket Club, the JFF, Kasfa, PFJL, ISSA, Mr Sixto, Dr Neville Graham, and George Jogragh.
The Jamaica Past Football Players Association was founded in 1996 by current President and former Jamaica International Neville Oxford - It is an affiliate of the Jamaica Football Federation.
